Early work

Early work

Our studio was founded on initial material prototypes which were shown at Brisbane exhibitions in 2016.

Architect Paul Owen curated an exhibition of local makers and commissioned a series of handmade bricks based on extruded building forms. Four different soils were sourced for our bricks, each producing a different colour when fired.

The Apprenticeship was an exhibition at Artisans Queensland on modern applications of traditional crafts. Working with Claypave factory, we created a series of hand made bricks formed of local soils which stacked to form a screen.

Seasonal Elements was an installation again at Artisans where we created timber sliding window screens filled with woven vegetation. The frames open, allowing the weaving to be updated seasonally to reflect seasonal cycles connecting the building to its place and landscape.
