HIRING : Business Development & Sales Manager
Hello everyone!
We’re currently looking for an experienced commercial furniture professional to join our studio and help lead the next stage of growth for our furniture range. As a small, award-winning studio working across furniture and architecture, with a strong commitment to circular materials and onshore manufacturing, we are looking for someone who can help expand the commercial reach of our furniture range to increase our impact and broaden our reach.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & SALES MANAGER
- Commercial and custom furniture
- Yeronga, Brisbane
- Part-time or full-time considered
- Salary commensurate with experience, with performance incentives available
ABOUT THE STUDIO
We are an award-winning Brisbane furniture design and manufacturing studio working based in Brisbane with customers Australia-wide. We work across architecture, interiors, and furniture with a strong focus on material integrity, craftsmanship and circular design. We produce commercial and retail furniture using recycled materials - namely timber, steel and concrete sourced from construction waste streams. Everything is designed and made inhouse, in close collaboration with our design and manufacturing teams.
Our work is well regarded within the architectural and hospitality sectors, and we are now looking to strengthen and grow the commercial arm of the furniture studio in a considered and sustainable way.
THE ROLE
This role leads the sales, business development and marketing coordination for our furniture range, working closely with the Creative Director and the design and manufacturing teams.
The position combines relationship building, structured business development and hands-on sales management. It requires someone comfortable operating both strategically and day to day within a small, collaborative studio environment.
- SALES AND ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Managing incoming enquiries and active leads, preparing quotes and proposals, overseeing pricing and margin considerations, maintaining CRM systems, and nurturing long-term relationships with architects, designers, hospitality groups and commercial clients. The role is responsible for building a consistent pipeline and ensuring repeat business through thoughtful account management.
- BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND PARTNERSHIPS
Identifying and pursuing new commercial opportunities, strengthening relationships within the architectural and hospitality sectors, and formalising supplier and manufacturing agreements across Brisbane and potentially interstate. A key focus will be expanding production capacity through external partnerships to ensure growth does not overload the internal workshop.
- MARKETING AND BRAND COORDINATION
Working alongside our digital marketing team to guide marketing direction, manage budget allocation and support product releases. This includes contributing to written content such as product copy and project summaries, ensuring marketing activity aligns with commercial objectives and reflects the studio’s design ethos.
The role reports to the Creative Director and will evolve over time, with scope to shape internal systems and manage internal teams as we grow.
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
We are seeking someone with experience in commercial furniture sales or account management who understands specification processes, trade relationships and the realities of manufacturing and supply chains.
Commercial awareness, financial literacy and confidence managing pricing structures and margins are important. Experience establishing supplier or manufacturing partnerships would be highly regarded.
Equally important is the ability to work within a small, creative team, contributing ideas and structure while respecting the collaborative nature of a design studio. The role suits someone self-motivated and practical, who enjoys building relationships and bringing clarity to systems without requiring a corporate environment.
WHAT WE OFFER
- An award-winning, well-regarded design studio with a strong architectural presence.
- A small, optimistic and highly collaborative team culture.
- Direct influence over how the furniture arm grows and evolves.
- Onshore manufacturing and meaningful material values.
- Flexibility in structure for the right candidate.
- Performance incentives aligned with measurable outcomes.
- The opportunity to help shape the next stage of a respected Australian design brand.
