Our dream is for a construction culture that celebrates the ethical use of material resources. Our studio has been researching sustainable material futures since our foundation in 2016, partnering with universities and industry to help find creative, practical solutions to systemic material issues.
This consultancy was born to share our research with clients, organisations and local councils so that they may make healthier choices with the materials they use.
If you have a project you’d like to discuss please get in touch. There are a number of ways we could work together.
We work as material consultants on all scales of construction projects, writing material guidelines for use by the design team. These are practical lists of materials to use (and avoid) tailored to your specific project. We break down a building into its raw components from structures, to cladding, roofing, flooring, finishes and interior elements to make recommendations.
Sustainable Materials Strategies
We write Sustainable Material Management Strategies (SMM’s) for organisations that examine their existing material use across their operations. These documents outline practical steps to limit the environmental impacts of their existing supply chains. Could you make a small switch to a different supplier or process? Micro changes can sometimes have a massive impact.
We partner with organisations to design and deliver structures and installations that use waste and local materials in creative ways. Could we find a way to reuse your demolished materials in your new project? Could we design a facade using your offcuts?
