ABOUT

Founded in 2016, Five Mile Radius is a cross-disciplinary design and fabrication studio based in Yeronga, working across Australia. Our mission is to shape a more sustainable construction culture — one that makes better use of local materials, skills, and stories.

We integrate architecture, interior design, material consultancy and fabrication under one roof. This model allows us to bridge the gap between design and making, and deliver creative, technically resolved outcomes that support a more circular built environment.

Our work spans early-stage material strategies, commercial fit-outs, adaptive reuse, and custom manufacturing. We specialise in using salvaged, low-carbon and bio-based materials — and we’re known for our hands-on, site-connected approach that brings design ideas to life through prototyping and fabrication.

Since 2019, we’ve diverted nearly 50 tonnes of construction waste from landfill, delivered over $5 million in circular economy-focused building projects, and helped shift industry attitudes toward more grounded, scalable forms of sustainability.

We work with government, commercial and private clients — often collaborating with architects, artists, and builders — to create meaningful, high-performing spaces and products that reflect place, reduce impact, and support long-term change.
