Each Flooring Stool is meticulously handcrafted from seven sections of salvaged timber flooring, joined with precision to create a lightweight yet robust piece. Every stool is a testament to the artistry of traditional woodworking and the story of Brisbane’s iconic Queenslander homes.

The timber used comes from off-cuts salvaged during demolition - pieces often overlooked or discarded by demolition yards due to their shorter lengths. Through a combination of time-honoured carpentry techniques and modern ingenuity, these timbers are carefully reworked and joined, preserving their history while giving them a new purpose.

The process is labour-intensive, as each piece of timber undergoes a series of steps to be prepared for assembly. From cleaning and de-nailing to precise cutting and joining, every step demands attention to detail and skill to honour the material's character.

Crafted from a mix of blond timbers such as Hoop Pine or Oregon - common in Queenslander interiors - the wood has a history stretching back over a century. This means every stool carries unique variations, with subtle differences in grain, colour, and texture, ensuring no two are exactly alike.

Finished with oil for protection, the stool is suitable for internal use or outdoor use in covered areas. Its versatile design allows it to function as both a stool and a side table.
