The Flooring Stool is made of seven sections of salvaged timber flooring, joined in harmony to create a lightweight, robust stool.
Derived from the off-cuts of timber flooring salvaged during the demolition of Brisbane's iconic Queenslander homes, this stool embodies sustainability and history. Demolition yards commonly discard shorter lengths or small quantities of salvaged timber. The flooring stool aims to make use of these lengths, using a combination of traditional carpentry and woodworking techniques to join the timber together.
The timber we use is a mixture of blond species of wood, typically Hoop Pine or Oregon, which are the most common species used internally in the linings of Queenslander houses. Much of the timber we use was felled over 100 years ago and as such, your stool may differ slightly from the images shown.
The stool is oiled for internal use or outdoor use undercover. It is lightweight, sturdy, and works not only as a stool but also as a side table. It is made entirely from reclaimed natural materials.

Note: As our product is made from reclaimed materials each stool will differ slightly from the images shown and the timber may have nail holes and markings as mementos of its former life.

Delivery is available Australia wide or items can be picked up from our Brisbane Studio upon notification.
