Elevate your fireside experience with our Telegraph Bench, expertly crafted from decommissioned timber power poles sourced throughout Australia. This robust piece is available in a natural or charred finish, showcasing the beauty of repurposed materials and embracing simplicity in design. Supported by two custom concrete blocks, cast from excess wet concrete salvaged from Brisbane building sites, the bench seamlessly combines two waste materials that would otherwise be destined for landfill.
Versatile and durable, our Telegraph Bench is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, designed to adapt effortlessly to uneven or sloping terrain. Whether you're looking for comfortable seating for two or a low side table with vibe, this bench adds character and functionality to any environment.
At any given time there are over 6 million telegraph poles in use across Australia. Every year 200,000 of these are replaced due to ‘ground line failure’ where a small section of the pole becomes waterlogged. The rest of the pole is reusable however 80% of these are currently scraped due to a lack of recycling incentive. Our telegraph poles are made from untreated species of hardwood sourced by our supplier Kennedy’s Timbers.

Note: As our product is made from reclaimed materials each bench will differ slightly and may have minor markings or colour variations from the images shown. Off-Form concrete will have markings and pin holes, consistent with an Off-Form concrete finish.
These benches are made from a wide variety of reclaimed Australian timber species. Occasionally, when exposed to rain, tannins from certain species (blackbutt for example) may bleed onto the concrete supports below. This is a natural outcome of working with reclaimed materials and is not considered a defect.
Benches are made-to-order and available for pickup or delivery within eight weeks of ordering. If you require your bench sooner please email us to check availability as we sometimes have limited stock ready for sale.
Delivery is available Australia wide or items can be picked up from our Brisbane Studio upon notification.
Shipping will automatically calculate at checkout. In the event that shipping costs are high, we're open to exploring alternative courier options.
