Exhibition Quarter Collection is a suite of custom furniture designed and fabricated for Lendlease’s EQ precinct at the Brisbane Showgrounds. Five Mile Radius created the collection in collaboration with First Nations design consultancy Blaklash, translating their place-based cultural narrative and design intent into a series of functional pieces grounded in place.

Barrambin, meaning "windy place”, is the traditional name for the Brisbane Showgrounds precinct. The design framework drew from three elements of Barrambin’s living landscape: clay, reeds and paperbark, as a basis for material, colour and form across the precinct.

Five Mile Radius translated this framework into a collection of tables and other furniture pieces. The resulting collection combines sustainably sourced native and reclaimed timbers with custom Waste Terrazzo made using pigmented concrete and waste brick, stone and tile. Pieces include large meeting and boardroom tables in carved local pine, nested and freestanding coffee tables, and smaller side tables with individually carved timber surfaces.

Designed and made in Brisbane, the collection celebrates local fabrication and respect for our natural resources.
