TWEED HOUSE WAREHOUSE

TWEED HOUSE WAREHOUSE

A warehouse and office fit-out for Business and Pleasure Co., built almost entirely from reclaimed materials. This project was a collaboration between Five Mile Radius and Dan Wilson Architect, with Five Mile Radius taking on multiple roles as design collaborator, materials sourcer, and site contractor.

The design embraces a circular approach, using pine stud seconds, recycled hardwood, deadstock plywood, Laminex packing sheets, recycled fire pipe, and factory offcuts of Ampelite polycarbonate. Curtains were made from 100% Australian cotton supplied by Full Circle Fibres, while acoustic panels from Uptex, crafted from compressed textile waste, provided a sustainable solution for sound management.

To maximise efficiency and flexibility, most elements were prefabricated in the Five Mile Radius workshop. This approach allowed for straightforward on-site assembly and ensures the fit-out can be easily disassembled and repurposed in the future.

The result is a space that is functional, adaptable, and deeply rooted in sustainable design, showcasing how reclaimed materials can be seamlessly integrated into high-performing, beautiful environments.
